Resurrection Egg Number One: Donkey Fun!

I love Resurrection Eggs by Family Life Publishing!  If you are using this wonderful resource, try adding an extra activity when you open each egg.

Day one/egg one contains a donkey.  Make a simple set of donkey ears and retell the story of Jesus coming into Jerusalem!

For more ideas to go with the first egg, check out my family theme nights blog post:

Fun Resurrection Eggs Extension Activities!

Our family loves to use Resurrection Eggs to retell the Biblical Easter story!  My kids have become very familiar with this resource, and I love trying to think of ways to continue to make the experience new and fun.

So today I posted five extension activities on my family fun night website http://familythemenights.com; ideas like playing Bible charades (to guess the items in the eggs), and enjoying morning egg hunts as part of family devotions during the days leading up to Easter.

Daniel and the Lions' Den

Daniel and the Lions' Den happens to be one of my favorite Bible stories.  It has so many great elements to it:  Daniel's conviction, God's protection and plenty of excitement!

It also happens to be a favorite with my kids.  We had a Daniel-themed family fun night last summer (for the second or third time):  my kids loved pretending to be lions as they learned about the story.  And I'm thinking that we are going to need to repeat that fun at home this weekend--my kids will be reviewing that story in Sunday school!

It also prompted me to put together a Pinterest pinboard of Daniel resources:

There is also a section of my family fun night book with meal ideas, activities, and resources with a Daniel and the Lions' Den theme:

Pin of the Day: Another Take on the Resurrection Garden

I love the idea of a "Resurrection Garden" (a container garden depicting the Easter story, with grass, a hill with three crosses, and a stone).  Today I saw this version of the garden, and I just loved the idea!

It takes the same concept, but adds flowers on Easter morning.  What a wonderful tradition to start!!

Pin of the Day: Palm Sunday Craft

I saw this craft idea on Pinterest, and immediately fell in love with it!  In fact, we used it in our MOPPETS (Mothers of Preschoolers child care) program yesterday.

Such a great idea to teach about the "Triumphal Entry," when Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem.  Hope it is an idea you can use too!

Pinterest "Pin of the Day"

Welcome to my new Bible Fun for Kids blog!  I love to make learning about the Bible fun for my kids, and I hope you do too.

As I develop this blog, I thought it would be fun to add a Pinterest "Pin of the Day" to highlight some of the best ideas on the web!  Today's idea is a printable worksheet for kids transitioning to "big church":

I love this idea!  I think it will really help my kids focus (and sit) during big church.  Hope you can use the idea too!
